Your first visit...
What you can expect at Anglesea Chiropractic and Acupuncture Clinic
Upon arrival
You will be given a general health questionnaire to fill out; to be completed upon entering the office.
We will need to know:
any past serious illnesses
medications you are taking.
past surgery and accidents (essential)
if your problem is accident related then an ACC form can be filled out at this time.
History and Consultation
Once the paperwork has been completed our practitioner will discuss your health-related problems. An indication of your general health is an advantage in determining a management plan for the condition.
Key questions:
What is wrong?
How long have you had the problem?
What makes it better and worse?
What other treatment have you had for it?
Are you8 being treated for any other conditions.
Examination
Your area of concern will be examined, and a number of standard orthopaedic and neurological tests performed. This will give a clinical picture of what is wrong, the most appropriate care and a possible indication of a prognosis.
X-Ray studies
Your specific condition may require x-rays to either rule out serious conditions or assist us in developing the most effective treatment plan for you. You may be referred to one of the Radiology Clinics nearby for any studies to be done, or if advanced imaging (MRI) needs to be performed, a referral to an appropriate practitioner can be done. The reports are available to us very quickly.
Same day treatment
At your first appointment you will usually be provided with your first treatment once the consultation, examination and all appropriate studies are completed. This may include spinal adjustments, and/or soft tissue therapies.
Scheduling your next appointment
You will be given a convenient appointment time for your follow-up visit. Generally speaking, patients are seen within one to two days and are provided with a complete review of the consultation and examination findings.
Treatment options will be discussed with you. All patients are encouraged to ask any questions so that their concerns can be discussed.
