Managed Treatments
Initially, two to three visits a week is required to achieve good improvements. We then increase the time between treatments, as the symptoms subside and you feel happy with progress, until we see you on a regular, but infrequent basis. This could be every four to 26 weeks. It is similar to going to the dentist. We have found this to be of benefit to our patients.
The sooner problems are addressed, the greater the tendency to remain stable. Good mental agility, nutrition, exercise, sleep, open communication and a positive mental attitude reduce the impact of stress, increasing your stability and the time between maintenance visits.
A Quick Fix
Some patients want a "quick fix" for their problems. These patients tend to cease care prematurely and the pain will always return at some stage or another. The treatment is left incomplete.
Beyond the Quick Fix
Some patients are happy to have care beyond symptomatic relief, with the understanding that this may reduce the severity of any re-aggravations. Many patients want to understand what is wrong and participate in the management of their complaint. We feel it is very important for patients
to understand the nature of their problem. We will spend a considerable period of time explaining to the patient what we perceive the problems to be.
These are the questions we endeavour to answer with each consultation. If we do not know the answer, then we will do our best to find out.
